Motorola always said they were "betting the farm" on Android. Of course that means all bases must be covered, so many handsets differing in form-factor, features and of course price is only to be expected. After last weekends explosive web and TV Droid commercials, news of another sliding keyboard model arrives by the name of Calgary, expected to be a budget model carried by Verizon. There are a few pics, courtesy of the Boy Genius Report, and specs are different enough to the Cliq and Droid to ensure it finds its own segment of the ever-so-fickle market.
The Calgary sports BLUR, Motorolas Android UI makeover with all its extras such as the integration of social networking updates in its "happenings" widget.

The Motorola Calgary also features a 3 megapixel camera, 3.5mm headset jack, GPS, digital magnetometer, Wi-Fi, microSD card slot, and spring-assisted slider. It seems to tick all the boxes for the youth market - is this Motorolas charge on the holy grail of mobile handsets - the first mass market smartphone?
